Stonegarden, Springton. Northwest block. Planted 1858.
Old Grenache on the dry side of the vineyard, with a little Mataro still in the rows. This is the mother site. The wine in the shop is from this block.
The back half of the year ran cooler and wetter, so the wine kept its natural acidity. Vegan.

Appearance
A vivid crimson colour
Aroma
Red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, and red apple notes, underscored by fine spices, dried citrus peel, pressed wildflowers, gingerbread and crushed stone.
Flavour
It's expansive, spicy, and intricate with red fruits and fine sandy tannins.
